Stakelogic is set to close its live casino studios in the Netherlands

(AsiaGameHub) -   Stakelogic has announced that it will shut down its live casino studios in Eindhoven, Netherlands. The confirmation that Stakelogic is ending its broadcasts from the Netherlands means the company has also stopped operating live casinos from that site. All employees in the division have been informed that there will be no further live broadcasts from the Dutch studio. This action appears to be part of a broader cost-saving strategy by Stakelogic; consequently, all Dutch-language live casino games produced at this facility will be discontinued. Although Stakelogic will no longer maintain a studio in the Netherlands, the company will continue its operations from its Malta facility, supplying content to its operators. The Eindhoven studio was originally established to provide local dealers and cater to the demand for Dutch-speaking live casino games such as roulette and blackjack. The shutdown of the Netherlands studio also results in the removal of the localized gambling games from Stakelogic's game portfolio. This decision by Stakelogic further highlights an ongoing restructuring within the live casino sector, driven by a persistent emphasis on cost reduction and operational efficiency. While Stakelogic remains active in the iGaming industry, focusing on the development of machine games and live casino content from other locations, the closure of its Dutch studio signals a consolidation of its live casino operations outside the Netherlands. Agreegain Enhances Content Portfolio through Collaboration with Endorphina

(AsiaGameHub) -   Agreegain has expanded its casino suite by adding fresh game content from Endorphina. As part of this partnership, more than 200 slot games from the Prague-based studio will now be accessible to Agreegain’s network of operator partners. Featured titles include King Of Ghosts and Hell Hot 100. Inga Kadyrova, Endorphina’s Partnership Manager, stated: “Partnerships like this help us strengthen our position across the industry, and I am confident our games will be a perfect complement to their existing offerings. We are thrilled to welcome Agreegain as our new partner.” Endorphina holds partnerships with over 5,000 companies globally and holds licenses to deliver game content across 31 jurisdictions worldwide, spanning markets in Europe and Latin America. Agreegain noted that integrating Endorphina into its partner network has enhanced the strength and variety of its content portfolio for its operator partners. Maria Afzaal, Senior Partnership Manager at Agreegain, added: “At Agreegain, we are consistently seeking content that aligns with the regions and markets we prioritize. “Partnering with Endorphina is an exciting milestone that lets us deliver innovative, diverse games that meet the needs of our operator partners across Europe and Latin America. We believe this addition bolsters our content portfolio and provides our partners and players with content that aligns with their preferences and our overall market strategy.” Managing Regulatory Risks Earlier this year, Josh Kingett, Business Development Manager at Agreegain, spoke with iGaming Expert about how content aggregators must adapt as operators continue to pursue international expansion into new markets. Kingett stressed that aggregators must proactively track regulatory shifts across global jurisdictions to ensure the games they offer are either pre-certified or swiftly adjusted to meet new compliance requirements. He added: “Aggregators should manage provider certifications and compliance updates through a central hub, shielding operators from tedious contract management, individual studio negotiations and delays. “Providing modular, jurisdiction-specific configurations via a single API also allows operators to adjust content compliance settings without rebuilding their entire platforms.” This article is provided by a third-party. Amnesty International calls for investigation into casino abuse in Cambodia

(AsiaGameHub) -   Amnesty International has charged Cambodia’s casino regulator with effectively endorsing enterprises involved in severe violations, such as torture, human trafficking, and child labor. The organization has highlighted 12 casinos that the Cambodia Commercial Gambling Management Commission (CGMC) authorized plans for between December 2025 and January 2026, noting that these venues function as scam compounds where documented human rights violations have occurred. Among those listed are three Crown casinos in Poipet, Bavet and Chrey Thum – owned by Anco Brothers Co. Ltd – as well as the Majestic Two and Majestic Hotel & Casino, whose former Chair, Kuong Li, was charged at the beginning of 2026 with illegal recruitment for exploitation, aggravated fraud, and money laundering. According to testimony from victims interviewed by Amnesty International, trafficked workers, often enticed by social media ads promising lucrative job opportunities, are detained against their will and compelled to participate in schemes that have defrauded victims of billions of dollars. Amnesty International utilized site visits and victim testimonies to cross-reference official plans submitted to the CGMG. The organization documented abuses such as workers being subjected to torture and beatings with electric shock batons. “The authorities must explain why casinos with proven ties to trafficking and torture continue to receive official approval,” said Montse Ferrer, Amnesty International’s Co-Regional Director. “Every day that these casinos remain licensed is another day in which people on casino property are at risk of human rights abuse. “Our research establishes a clear link between Cambodia’s licensed casinos and its scamming compounds. At a time when the government claims to be dismantling the scamming industry, the evidence shows it is simultaneously approving plans for casino properties where abusive scamming compounds are run.” Authorities in Cambodia have repeatedly reaffirmed their commitment to addressing scam compounds; Reuters reported that approximately 190 scam centers were closed down in February. Last week, Cambodia’s Parliament also passed the first cybercrime law dedicated to targeting the perpetrators of online scams. Once implemented, those convicted will face between two to five years in prison and fines up to $125,000. Sentences for scams conducted by gangs or against many victims can extend up to 10 years. However, Amnesty International has accused the Cambodian government of “deliberately ignoring a litany of human rights abuses” and police forces in the country of collusion with compound bosses to avoid enforcement action. A report published in June 2025 by the charity identified 53 scamming compounds, and over half were linked to casinos, as gangs often repurpose former casinos and hotels into centers for fraud. “The Cambodian authorities know what is going on inside scamming compounds, yet they allow it to continue. Our findings reveal a pattern of state failures that have allowed criminality to flourish and raise questions about the government’s motivations,” Ferrer said in June. She added that the latest revelations demonstrate that the casino sector requires “investigation and accountability,” and demanded that the Cambodian government immediately suspend the gambling licences of the casinos identified until a “full, independent and transparent investigation into the violations documented at these sites” is conducted. The CGMC and the companies named failed to respond to Amnesty International over the allegations. According to a statement released on 5 April, the CGMC has revoked the licence of the Shang Hai Resort, a casino not named by Amnesty International, after raids found evidence of activity related to scam compounds. French regulator ANJ says casino efforts to combat gambling harm remain insufficient

(AsiaGameHub) -   France's national gambling regulator has urged casinos to intensify their efforts against underage and problem gambling, stating that some establishments are failing to detect and assist a sufficient number of patrons experiencing gambling-related harm. The authority highlighted that both compulsive and underage gambling rank among the most significant threats within the French market, calling on the industry to re-evaluate its approach to these challenges. Alongside this caution, the Autorité Nationale des Jeux (ANJ) acknowledged the growth in collaborations between casinos and support services, as it assessed operator action plans designed to prevent excessive and underage gambling. Uneven results The ANJ observed that while casinos are enhancing their systems for identifying and assisting at-risk players, some 'are still only detecting and supporting an inadequate number of excessive or pathological gamblers, a figure that does not match their customer traffic levels'. The regulator also mentioned that the improved links between gambling venues and support organizations have facilitated directing identified problem gamblers to treatment, running awareness campaigns, and training employees. Regarding staff training, the ANJ reported that more than 2,200 individuals have utilized the e-learning module since its introduction in November 2024. More work to do Minimizing gambling harm is a central pillar of the ANJ's strategic plan for 2024-2026. Since October 2019, operators have been mandated to submit their protection action plans to the ANJ for assessment, with the goal of bolstering player safeguards. In all, plans were submitted for approval by FDJ United and Pari Mutuel Urbain (PMU), 17 licensed online operators, 210 casinos and gaming clubs, and 231 racetracks. Only one casino's plan was rejected. The ANJ pointed out that industry-wide advancements have occurred but stressed that more work is necessary to achieve the target of reducing gambling harm by 2027. Operators received several suggestions, such as reinforcing their systems, training staff, and giving players essential information. While the ANJ approved the action plans from FDJ and PMU, it indicated two primary issues require attention: Implement a rigorous policy for monitoring retail outlets to ensure compliance with the prohibition on sales to minors. Create methods suitable for physical locations to establish a more efficient system for recognizing and aiding gamblers affected by harm. Strengthening systems Concerning licensed online operators, the ANJ said most have implemented procedures to prevent circumvention of the underage gambling ban, covering registration, information provision to adults, awareness initiatives, and parental controls. Actions to better detect individuals harmed by gambling have also been taken. The count of flagged players increased from 31,000 in 2024 to 89,000 in 2025, following upgrades to detection tools and new metrics. Nevertheless, the regulator expects operators to enhance their identification of potentially harmed players to align it 'with the scale of their customer base and prevalence research'. 'Concrete and quantifiable outcomes' must also be realized in fortifying systems that spot those suffering or at risk, with possible monitoring to confirm these improvements. This push for stronger systems coincides with operators gearing up for the forthcoming FIFA World Cup. The ANJ reminded FDJ, PMU, and other licensed operators earlier this year that they must not surpass their declared total promotional budget for 2026. Racetrack improvements In the horse racing sector, the ANJ recognized work to inform bettors about support resources, train staff, and the ongoing supervision by the National Federation of Horse Racing (FNCH). However, the regulator emphasized the need for a clear separation at venues between family-friendly zones and betting areas, and to ensure content does not indirectly promote gambling. The FNCH was also directed to enhance its processes for identifying and supporting individuals experiencing gambling harm at tracks by persisting with training, as current efforts were deemed 'insufficient'. Philippines Declares the End of the POGO Chapter

(AsiaGameHub) -   Government authorities in the Philippines have announced that the country has now fully eliminated all remaining traces of offshore gaming operations, which are widely known as POGOs. Prior to July 2024, online gaming operators were permitted to set up their headquarters in the Philippines while serving customers based in overseas markets such as China. However, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr reversed this policy during his 2024 State of the Nation Address, announcing that he would ban POGO operations entirely due to their deep ties to a range of criminal activities. He explained that POGOs had “expanded into illegal activities far beyond gaming, including financial scams, money laundering, prostitution, human trafficking, kidnapping, brutal torture and even murder”, and a deadline of the end of 2024 was set for all such operations to cease operations permanently. Justice Secretary Fredderick Vida told The Manila Times on Monday (April 6) that “there are no official POGOs left operating in the country, and no unauthorised illegal POGOs either”, confirming that the government’s sector-wide crackdown has been completed successfully. The close of the POGO era POGO operations first began emerging in 2003, after the Philippines offered a base to Chinese gaming operators that were displaced by the Chinese government’s full ban on all gambling in Mainland China. The sector saw rapid growth starting in 2016, after the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) began issuing operating licenses to POGO providers. At its peak in 2019, the Philippines’ POGO industry counted more than 300 licensed operators, contributed over P100bn (£1.25bn) in tax revenue to the national government, and employed tens of thousands of local Filipino workers. However, as POGOs grew in scale, widespread concerns over linked criminal activity continued to build, leading to repeated calls for a full ban on the sector, demands that President Marcos Jr ultimately answered. One of the most high-profile criminal cases connected to POGOs involved Alice Guo, a Chinese national who was sentenced to life imprisonment in November 2025 on human trafficking charges. The charges followed a 2024 raid on a POGO operation located on land Guo owned in the town of Bamban. Police found more than 700 Filipino and foreign nationals at the site, many of whom reported they had been forced to participate in online scam operations. Further investigations also uncovered that Guo had faked her Filipino citizenship to win election as Mayor of Bamban. A statement from the Presidential Anti-Organised Crime Commission (PAOCC) released after the guilty verdict said: “Guo’s power, wealth and public image were built entirely on human trafficking, online scam operations and a falsified identity.” “This long-awaited ruling is not only a legal victory but also a moral one. It delivers justice to victims, reaffirms the government’s unified stance against organised crime and marks a defining moment in the country’s fight against large-scale trafficking and online scam syndicates.” A new chapter for the Philippine gaming market One year after the official end of POGO operations, the PAOCC is still prosecuting cases linked to members of dismantled POGO networks, which highlights how deeply criminality was embedded throughout these operations. Gambling remains a key economic driver for the Philippine economy, but regulated online gaming is now limited to domestic inland operators (PIGOs) and is overseen by PAGCOR. In 2025, online gaming activity generated P53.3bn (£667.9m) in revenue for PAGCOR. Even so, the regulator recorded an overall 5% drop in total revenue, partially caused by the offshore gaming ban, as the now-banned sector contributed almost P3bn (£37.6m) in revenue in 2024. Following the government’s crackdown on POGOs, policy focus has now shifted to strengthening oversight of the regulated gaming industry, as well as cracking down on the country’s unregulated gambling black market. KPMG Cleared in Entain Audit Investigation Regarding Turkish Liabilities

(AsiaGameHub) -   The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) has concluded its inquiry into KPMG's audit of Entain Plc's financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2022. The UK's statutory body for audit, accounting, and corporate governance has stated that neither KPMG nor Entain will face any disciplinary measures. Launched in November 2024, the investigation focused on KPMG's work on Entain's FY2022 consolidated accounts. This followed the FTSE-listed gambling operator's agreement to a £615m deferred prosecution agreement (DPA) in 2023. This DPA, settled with HMRC and the Crown Prosecution Service, concerned bribery accusations connected to GVC Holdings—Entain's former operating company—and its historical business activities in Turkey. No action needed In its FY2023 results, Entain posted a statutory loss of around £890m, largely due to a £585m provision for the DPA. The full settlement totalled £615m, made up of a £585m penalty, a £20m charitable contribution, and £10m in costs to the authorities. The audited year, FY2022, was characterised as one of robust fundamental performance. Entain recorded an EBITDA of £993m and an operating profit of £103m, buoyed by expansion in the US through its BetMGM brand and persistent demand in UK and European markets, amplified by conditions during the COVID pandemic. The FRC examined whether KPMG had sufficiently evaluated legal and regulatory risks in Entain's accounts, particularly regarding how liabilities from its past Turkish operations were handled. In its decision, the FRC said: “Having reviewed the evidence obtained in the investigation, and having considered all relevant factors, the Executive Counsel has decided not to bring enforcement action.” Since 2024, Entain has consistently asserted that all issues related to the case are now settled, confirming the group has completely moved on from its historical exposure. Operating under an updated corporate charter, Entain now conducts business solely in fully regulated markets, strengthening its compliance and governance structure. Notwithstanding these reforms, financial challenges persist. For FY2025, Entain reported a third straight annual loss, amounting to £680m, even as key performance indicators showed marked improvement in its core UK and Ireland markets, indicating a return to stability in these important regions. A broader restructuring KPMG continues to serve as Entain Plc's statutory auditor, with the end of the FRC investigation eliminating a source of regulatory doubt over its audit services. Nevertheless, the firm is undergoing its own operational overhaul. In early 2026, KPMG disclosed a strategic review of its workforce, confirming intentions to eliminate roughly 440 assistant manager positions in its audit division, in addition to about 120 roles in its advisory business. The firm cited unusually low staff turnover rates as the reason for the necessary workforce changes. The resolution of the Entain investigation, paired with wider restructuring in the audit industry, highlights an evolving environment for corporate governance and audit supervision, where regulators are weighing scrutiny against a more proportionate enforcement strategy. Black Market Gambling Grows as UK Enforcement Fails to Keep Up

(AsiaGameHub) -   While licensed operators face stricter rules, unregulated gambling sites are taking advantage of gaps in oversight, growing more prominent and difficult to regulate. The UK is struggling to contain illegal gambling as black market entities outpace enforcement efforts. A new study by fraud expert Alex Wood, backed by Flutter UK & Ireland, reveals that offshore betting platforms remain highly accessible and are frequently advertised in the digital space. Wood’s research identified significant flaws in identity checks. During trials conducted before the Cheltenham Festival, he successfully opened accounts on several offshore sites using obviously fraudulent credentials. He utilized the names of prominent horse racing figures, such as Willie Mullins, Jack Kennedy, and Harry Skelton. Even nonsensical addresses like “Cheltenham racecourse” were permitted during the sign-up process. In one instance, Wood signed up as the legendary horse Red Rum, claiming his profession was “racehorse” and his residence was “horse heaven.” Another site permitted a registration for a six-year-old purportedly living at Buckingham Palace. These lapses demonstrate how offshore platforms allow individuals to circumvent safety measures like self-exclusion. The investigation identified sites such as Cosmobet, Velobet, and MyStake. MyStake recently made headlines for a supposed partnership with football icon Ronaldinho, though these reports were later proven false, with evidence indicating a photo of the player and the CEO was doctored. Regulators face challenges not just from the sites themselves, but from their marketing reach. Wood noted that social media is a primary tool for gaining new users, reporting that his Instagram feed was inundated with promotions for offshore bookies via influencer and tipster accounts. Some of these advertisements directed users to private messaging channels where referral codes and betting suggestions were shared. Alex Wood commented: I have been stunned by the vast amount of unlicensed and illegal gambling material being marketed online, and social media platforms must be held accountable for this. In a separate test, Wood asked Meta AI for offshore gambling recommendations and was provided with links to multiple black market websites specifically targeting the UK market. Weaknesses in payment processing also contribute to the problem. Many offshore sites accept standard payment methods like digital wallets and bank cards, allowing users to move from the regulated market to the black market with ease. PRO-6 Makes 221 Arrests in March Anti-Illegal Gambling Operations in Western Visayas

(AsiaGameHub) -   Law enforcement agencies in the Western Visayas Region intensified their campaign against illegal gambling throughout March, apprehending 221 individuals across 93 operations conducted region-wide. The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) also announced the confiscation of PHP 142,052.75 in wagered money during these enforcement actions. Between March 1 and March 31, 2026, police efforts targeting illegal gambling resulted in an average of over seven arrests daily, totaling 221, and the seizure of more than PHP142,000 in betting funds. PRO-6 indicated that these operations were carried out consistently and collaboratively by units spanning multiple jurisdictions. The Iloilo City Police Office led the region with 38 operations, followed by the Iloilo Province Police Office with 23 operations, making both units significant contributors to the month's anti-gambling initiatives. PRO-6 emphasized that these ongoing operations are integral to the broader strategy of curbing illegal gambling. Authorities have observed a frequent correlation between illegal gambling and other criminal activities, underscoring the persistent necessity for enforcement measures. The apprehension of over 200 individuals and the execution of nearly 100 operations within a single month demonstrate the authorities' commitment to maintaining pressure on illegal gambling operations. The Netherlands Gaming Authority Sets Up More Definite Protocols for Player Protection

(AsiaGameHub) -   KSA holds that online gambling operators must gain a clearer understanding of their responsibilities when it comes to protecting their players. The Netherlands enforces a central self-exclusion mechanism called Cruks, which operators are required to use as soon as they find evidence that a player may have gambling-related problems. After operators determine that a player could be facing a severe gambling issue, they are required to advise the player to join this national self-exclusion database. Once a player registers for Cruks, they will be blocked from accessing any legal gambling websites operating in the Netherlands. If a player refuses to sign up for Cruks, the operator is legally bound to immediately report the player to the KSA. If the KSA determines that a player should be self-excluded, it can forcibly add that individual to the exclusion list. However, operators currently face confusion over how to confirm whether a player has already registered in this database, and what their exact reporting obligations are. Apart from addressing issues related to operator obligations under its "duty of care" guidelines, the KSA also issued warnings to sportsbooks last week. KSA investigators identified several sportsbooks that had been offering wagers deemed to be illegal. The KSA contacted these sportsbooks immediately, and all of them quickly removed the specific wagering products from their websites. This article is provided by a third-party. Entain Aims for Half of New Zealand’s Prospective iGaming Market

(AsiaGameHub) -   Entain is preparing to enter the New Zealand online casino sector, aiming to capture half of the market once regulatory frameworks are in place. According to CEO Stella David, the organization intends to submit applications for three licenses when the New Zealand government opens the process in late 2026. Entain anticipates that its alliance with TAB, the country's exclusive retail and digital sports and racing betting provider, will allow for effective cross-selling of new iGaming products to its established and faithful customer base. Despite prior cost-cutting initiatives and staff reductions in New Zealand, Entain is dedicated to its growth strategy, expecting online net gaming revenue to rise by 5%–7% after reporting $6.6 billion in total group revenue for 2025. Andrew Vouris remarked that the company's current infrastructure and industry expertise offer a robust platform for entering and expanding within the New Zealand market. If successful, Entain may become the sole operator in the region providing a complete portfolio of sports wagering, racing, and online casino games. This article is provided by a third-party. Spinomenal Releases Baba Yaga Tales 2 with Supernatural Power

(AsiaGameHub) -   Spinomenal, a premier iGaming content creator, is releasing its much-awaited follow-up, Baba Yaga Tales 2. Enter the shadowy realm of Baba Yaga Tales 2, where a 5×5 reel grid hums with mystical force under ancient, gnarled trees and occult icons. An immersive, haunting score enhances the spooky ambiance, pulling players further into the depths of Slavic mythology. Featuring four distinct Slavic spirits, the game assigns each one unique mechanics and progressively greater rewards as players advance through the Free Spins domain. Wild symbols replace all others except the Scatter, with five on a payline awarding 300 times the stake. During the base game, a win multiplier of 2x or 3x can materialize as the reels spin. The Blue Moon Scatter is the key to the Free Spins feature; landing three triggers it. Every activation moves the player forward to a new Free Spins stage, each defined by its own supernatural gameplay. Hitting the Ultra Scatter alongside a Divine Baba Yaga symbol supercharges the Free Spins, unlocking the complete potential of every feature. This otherworldly Free Spins voyage starts with Morozko’s Winning Symbols Respin, where any winning combination causes a respin, locking the winning symbols and replacing the others. Securing three more Scatters transports players to Zmeygorviychi’s Extra Wilds, which adds more wilds to the reels to boost win potential and stoke the supernatural fire. The rewards grow more intense as the journey continues. Rusalka signifies the third phase with Shifting Reels Respin. Here, the reels slide down one row each spin, unveiling a fresh row from the top, simulating a flowing journey through the enchanted woods. When Ultra Mode is engaged, winning combinations stay fixed as the other symbols renew, setting off chain reactions for larger payouts. The fourth and concluding phase is Baba Yaga’s Stacked Wilds Respin. In this final round, a fully landed stacked Wild on any reel triggers a respin. During Ultra Mode, stacked Wilds are assured on every spin from reel one to five, releasing the witch's total mystical might. Two fully landed stacked Wilds also activate a respin, paving the way for the most substantial victories. Spinomenal CO-CEO, Omer Henya commented: Baba Yaga Tales 2 is a superb expansion of the Spinomenal collection, offering players an exciting dive into Slavic myth through gameplay that truly values their engagement. The cascading wins, multipliers, and Wheel of Fortune provide multiple paths to success, while the progressive Free Spins stages maintain high excitement and peerless entertainment. When the Free Spins feature is activated, a magical Wheel of Fortune adorned with medium-paying symbols appears. Players spin the wheel to determine which symbol will become an expanding symbol for the duration of the round. This expanding symbol generates additional winning lines alongside the standard ones, revealing exceptional win possibilities, culminating in a staggering top prize of 10,000 times the bet—a reward reserved for the luckiest explorers of Slavic lore. Evoplay Embarks on a Safari Adventure with Heart of Africa: Lion Way

(AsiaGameHub) -   Evoplay has introduced Heart of Africa: Lion Way, a new slot packed with features that embodies the essence and wonder of the wilderness, all set against a sun-baked savannah backdrop. Set amidst vast desert vistas, Heart of Africa: Lion Way tracks the journey of the jungle's king, blending potent game mechanics with fixed jackpots. The reels are home to majestic creatures like zebras, giraffes, and elephants, but the Lion commands attention via the central Lion Way feature. This is activated when Lion symbols land in sequence from left to right, with each one granting the value shown, allowing players to gather cash rewards or fixed jackpots such as Mini, Mega, Super, and Grand. Gameplay is defined by three unique symbols: the First Lion starts winning sequences, Money Lions hold values reaching 15x the bet or jackpot prizes, and Golden Lions open the Special Bonus Game. The Special Bonus Game plays out on a 3×3 grid with three spins, where only Money Lion symbols appear and remain locked. Completing the entire grid grants the Super jackpot, and the sum of all collected values decides the Golden Lion's ultimate prize. Wild symbols show up on reels two through four, replacing all standard symbols except for Scatters and Lions, aiding in creating winning combinations in both the main game and Free Spins. Landing three or more Scatters activates the Free Spins, providing up to 20 spins. In this mode, Lions land more often, and additional Free Spins can be retriggered with two or more Scatters. A random event may also occur during Free Spins, placing from two to six Lions on the reels to enhance win potential. Players eager to dive right in can use the Bonus Buy feature, which offers immediate entry to 10, 15, or 20 Free Spins. Ivan Kravchuk, CEO at Evoplay, said:  Heart of Africa: Lion Way embodies the untamed beauty and thrill of the savannah, merging impressive graphics with engaging features that captivate players from the outset. The Lion Way system adds a novel layer to gameplay, offering a straightforward route to wins while preserving the unpredictable excitement characteristic of the wild. Better Choices, Longer Sessions: The Power of Intentional Variety

(AsiaGameHub) -   Content saturation is a major challenge in the iGaming industry, so standing out now depends less on quantity and more on strategic focus. In this piece, Edvardas Sadovkis, Chief Product Officer at ICONIC21, contends that purposeful variety is emerging as the critical factor for keeping players engaged. As gaming operators grapple with increasing “lobby clutter,” Sadovkis examines how curated content plans, cross-vertical integration, and quicker, more user-friendly experiences can ease decision fatigue and lengthen players’ time on the platform. Using ICONIC21’s own growth journey as an example, he explains why organized diversity and brand-driven ecosystems will shape success in 2026. Traditionally, the iGaming sector prioritized quantity over quality, leading to market saturation. As 2026 nears, data shows that generic game titles are becoming less relevant. These games lack unique flair and fail to meet the expectations of players accustomed to endless scrolling. This situation imposes a “lobby overcrowding cost” on decision-makers. Information overload reduces the quality of choices, resulting in a paradox of choice—when faced with too many similar options, players often abandon the platform entirely. Purposeful variety is the solution to combat decision fatigue. A cross-vertical strategy that supports this smooth flow is a key growth driver. Integrating different verticals can boost player lifetime value. The goal is to guide players from the homepage to their next optimal action quickly, delivering experiences that align with their preferences and your brand’s standards. This shift toward curated variety is the core foundation. This transition to curated variety underpins the success of leading iGaming content providers. ICONIC21 initially focused on delivering an entertainment-first live dealer experience. A major change came in 2024, when the company rebranded and became an independent entity, expanding its content offerings and evolving from a live-centric approach to a comprehensive 360-degree supplier. Their growth from a live-only specialist to a multi-vertical powerhouse offering live casino, slots, virtual games, promo tools, dedicated studios, and more serves as proof of successful scaling, aligned with market demand and data-driven insights. But how? Trust is the currency of live gaming, but spectacle drives engagement. ICONIC21’s Gravity Series—including recently released Gravity Wheel, Gravity Roulette, and other game types—transforms traditional games into cinematic events by layering multipliers and high payouts. For the mobile-first, digitally native audience, speed is everything. RNG-based formats like Crash or Plinko and fan favorites like Chicken Run act as vital “bridge content,” capturing players’ attention with simple, intense mechanics. While some providers flood the market with low-quality “slop,” it’s important to maintain a steady release cycle balanced across verticals. This pace keeps the lobby fresh without contributing to choice overload. As content becomes commoditized, your brand remains your most valuable asset. Dedicated studios reflect your unique vision. Branded games consistently outperform network games in engagement and retention by fostering familiarity and loyalty. The message for 2026 is clear: authority trumps volume. Build a brand-led, diverse ecosystem that values your players’ time, and they will respond with loyalty. Your content should be as fast, distinctive, and intentional as your audience. SOFTSWISS Debuts Prediction Markets Product for iGaming Operators

(AsiaGameHub) -   SOFTSWISS has debuted SOFTSWISS Prediction Markets, a fresh B2B offering aimed at helping online gaming and sports betting operators capitalize on the surging event-based betting sector. Utilizing a fixed-odds approach, the tool enables operators to connect with demographics outside of conventional sports betting without the hurdles of peer-to-peer (P2P) exchange models. This solution allows users to wager on yes/no outcomes regarding global developments in politics, finance, technology, and society. It is available as a standalone iFrame widget or as an integrated feature within the SOFTSWISS Sportsbook. Current partners can launch the service in just two to three days, while new clients can expect a setup period of approximately three weeks. The popularity of prediction markets has skyrocketed, fueled by high interest in elections and major international trends. In the United States, annual trading volume is projected to jump from roughly $300 million in 2024 to between $40 billion and $50 billion by 2025. Despite this trend, many established iGaming companies have yet to fully embrace the opportunity. Olga Resiga, Chief Business Development Officer at SOFTSWISS, commented: We are observing the emergence of a new player demographic. Prediction markets represent more than just a sportsbook add-on; they attract entirely different audiences who typically do not use standard betting products. Their interest is sparked by an understanding of world events rather than sports loyalty. This, paired with the non-stop news cycle, ensures a more consistent level of engagement. Operators who overlook this transition risk losing out on a new generation of market participants. In contrast to peer-to-peer models that require external liquidity, the SOFTSWISS solution employs a fixed-odds system. This provides operators with enhanced oversight of pricing, profit margins, and risk management through familiar sportsbook frameworks. Alexander Kamenetskyi, Head of Operations at SOFTSWISS Sportsbook, stated: For most businesses, the challenge isn't the appeal of prediction markets, but rather how to incorporate them into current systems without a total overhaul for exchange mechanics. A fixed-odds structure is a much more viable option. It allows operators to gauge interest within established risk and compliance parameters while reaching users who don't necessarily start with traditional sports betting habits. The product has already been deployed with several partners for initial testing and adoption. SOFTSWISS plans to present the solution and review integration possibilities with operators at the upcoming BiS SiGMA South America event in São Paulo. This article is provided by a third-party. Optimove to buy Smartico, boosting CRM and gamification offerings for iGaming

(AsiaGameHub) -   Marketing tech firm Optimove has revealed its intention to purchase Smartico, a business renowned for its gamification-focused CRM solutions within the iGaming industry. The transaction is set to close in the next few weeks, though financial terms remain undisclosed. After the acquisition is complete, both entities will keep running autonomously, maintaining their individual brands, teams, and product plans. Smartico’s founders will stay at the helm of the company, managing its strategic direction and daily activities. This step takes place against the backdrop of fast growth in the global online gambling market, which is growing more intricate due to changing regulations and regional divisions. In this context, the need for sophisticated CRM and player engagement tools keeps increasing. Optimove, well-known for its data-backed CRM marketing platform and AI-enabled decision-making features, has been a major player in the iGaming sector for a long time. Smartico, conversely, has established its name by embedding gamification directly into CRM processes, boosting player engagement via missions, rewards, and interactive experiences. By uniting the two companies under a single ownership structure, the acquisition merges complementary strengths—Optimove’s advanced analytics and AI with Smartico’s gamification-centric approach. Even with shared ownership, both firms will keep developing their products independently and may even compete in the market; this strategy is thought to encourage ongoing innovation. Smartico’s current clients shouldn’t anticipate any immediate changes. The company will keep its existing services, pricing, and support framework, now supported by extra resources from Optimove. In summary, the agreement strengthens Optimove’s standing in the changing iGaming CRM landscape, as the industry moves toward more sophisticated, AI-powered marketing and engagement solutions. Expert Liam Blackley Details the Advantages of Minimum Deposit Casinos in Canada

(AsiaGameHub) -   Casino expert Liam Blackley outlines the review process at Casino.ca and the criteria he uses for casino recommendations. Discover the top low-deposit casinos in Canada as highlighted by Blackley and learn what Canadian players prioritize in a gaming site. TheGamblest: Liam, you are part of the casino review team at Casino.ca. What distinguishes the Canadian iGaming scene, and what is your background in this market? Liam: Canada enforces relatively stringent laws for physical casinos, which has fueled the massive growth of online gambling. Sports betting and refined mobile applications are especially attractive to Canadian players. Ontario, my home and work province, pioneered the establishment of a specialized iGaming regulatory authority in the country. Now, platforms must obtain approval and a license to operate in Ontario, condensing the market to a select group of high-quality operators. Other provinces are adopting this model, with Alberta preparing to introduce similar regulatory frameworks soon. To attract a Canadian audience, online casinos must remain competitive by offering user-friendly advantages such as low minimum deposits. I have witnessed the Ontario iGaming sector develop and evolve over many years, having assessed numerous online casinos across Canada and the U.S. for various publications. My role at Casino.ca has allowed me to focus specifically on the Ontario market. TheGamblest: What is involved in a Casino.ca review? What portion is based on objective data versus your personal viewpoint? Liam: I aim to rely on facts as much as I can, while also noting features that may subjectively suit different playing preferences. Each review begins with comprehensive hands-on testing. I frequently dedicate an entire day to navigating a casino site before writing anything. The objective is to experience the journey of a typical user, from registration to making an initial deposit and redeeming a welcome offer. Following that, I gather extensive data. This includes the number of games accessible in Canada, the availability of key payment options like Interac or PayPal, and whether customer support is available 24/7 or at least during peak Canadian gambling hours. These are all points that can be verified objectively. Beyond the basics, the assessment becomes more nuanced. I look for feature synergy, not just volume. For instance, a $5.00 minimum deposit is notable, but its value diminishes if the casino imposes deposit fees. While some players might accept this, as a reviewer I adopt a stricter stance to guide readers toward the highest-caliber platforms. TheGamblest: You brought up minimum deposit casinos. Is this a key concern for Canadian players? Liam: Absolutely. Virtually all Canadian financial institutions and online casinos support Interac e-transfers for quick and convenient online payments, similar to Venmo in the U.S. More than 88% of Canadians have used Interac at least once. Many Canadian online casinos permit minimum deposits of $5.00 via Interac, with some even allowing $1.00 deposits using Visa or MasterCard. This sets a high benchmark for all other payment options. Whereas casinos in other regions might offer more features or a sleeker platform in exchange for higher deposit minimums, Canadian players expect low thresholds on all sites and are less inclined to sacrifice quality for lower cost. In Ontario, the range of approved casino payment methods is relatively restricted, mainly due to provincial regulations. This makes low deposit limits even more vital, as players frequently cannot just opt for a different method to find lower limits. TheGamblest: Which online casinos offer the best minimum deposits in Canada? Do you have any suggestions? Liam: I endorse any casino operated by Cadtree Ltd. This group includes Jackpot City, Spin Casino, and Ruby Fortune. Players can deposit as little as $5.00 using methods like Interac or credit cards, and also via Instadebit or the MuchBetter e-wallet. Additionally, these casinos provide expedited withdrawals on specific methods, enabling payouts in under an hour. Casino Days is another excellent choice, featuring deposits from $1.00 and one of my preferred casino apps in Canada. I would also suggest ToonieBet, which has a slightly higher $10.00 minimum deposit but makes up for it with a library of over 5,000 games. Ontario residents might consider the OLG online casino, operated by the provincial crown corporation, for added trustworthiness and stability, with minimum deposits starting at $15.00. TheGamblest: How can casinos best attract players for whom low minimum deposits are a must-have? Liam: Currently, in 2026, cryptocurrency is fundamentally reshaping deposit minimum expectations. While coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum have strong brand awareness, others such as Dogecoin or Ripple enable remarkably low deposits—sometimes just a few cents. Cryptocurrency surpasses all traditional (fiat) payment methods in terms of pure cost-effectiveness, making it a favored option for budget-minded players. The leading crypto casinos understand that their users prioritize privacy, low cost, and transaction speed. For any casino that begins with only fiat payments, adding cryptocurrency options is an effective strategy to attract new users and keep existing ones engaged. Altenar to Highlight Gap in Sportsbook Strategy at SiGMA South America

(AsiaGameHub) -   Top sportsbook platform Altenar is participating in SiGMA South America in São Paulo, which launched today, April 6. The firm is posing a key industry question: why do so many operators still fail to prioritize sportsbooks as the core of their strategy? Brazil’s online gaming (iGaming) market is thriving, yet numerous operators are stuck in their comfort zones. Local brands keep leaning heavily on casino offerings, whereas global industry leaders are shifting more and more toward sports betting. The rationale is obvious: sportsbooks foster deeper user engagement and better long-term customer retention. Data backs up this trend. By 2025’s end, Brazil’s licensed betting industry had generated R$37 billion in Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR), roughly $7.5 billion USD, signifying the first full year of a regulated online market. Per H2-OpenBet, sports betting made up 55% of the total online betting and gaming GGR, cementing its position as the market’s biggest single vertical. Against this backdrop, viewing sportsbooks as secondary offerings is no longer a cautious strategy—it’s a lost business chance. Altenar’s Co-Founder and COO Dinos Stranomitis will discuss this topic at the panel titled “The Undefined Value of Sports Betting in Brazil.” The key takeaway is clear: the next industry leaders will be those who expand beyond casinos by adopting sportsbooks. Altenar’s current expansion in São Paulo mirrors this path—toward more balanced, data-informed operations where sportsbooks are a central component. Luana Monje, Sales Executive at Altenar Brazil, commented: The sports betting market is changing more quickly than many operators are willing to acknowledge. Operators that act now to prioritize sportsbooks will lead in customer retention and lifetime value. The true risk lies in delaying serious action on this front. Got more questions? Canadian regulator permits limited prediction market offerings by firms

(AsiaGameHub) -   Canada’s federal securities regulator has approved two companies to begin trading in prediction markets as it cautiously dips its toes into this highly contentious investment category. The Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) has authorized Interactive Brokers Canada and Toronto-based Wealthsimple to launch trading in event contracts, which will be finalized by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC)—the agency that supervises CFTC-licensed platforms such as Kalshi, PolyMarket, and Crypto.com. CIRO oversees investment dealers and establishes rules for event contract trading. A separate body, the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA), collaborates with provincial securities regulators across Canada to ensure national consistency. Louis Morisset, former chair of the CSA, stated: Binary options are the leading form of investment fraud facing Canadians today, and the impact of these scams on individuals is immense. CIRO has clarified that only a limited variety of contracts will be allowed: their maturity dates must be at least 30 days away, and they can be based on economic, environmental, or financial indicators. All these contracts will be classified as derivatives, so they will be subject to the same rules and oversight from both CIRO and participating provincial regulators that govern options trading. Additionally, CIRO noted that event contracts related to elections, political nominations, referenda, or any activity unlawful under Canadian law will not be permitted. This aligns with the CSA’s prior ban on short-term binary options, which were also strongly associated with fraud and harm to the investing public. This article is provided by a third-party. Nevada Prolongs the Ban on Kalshi

(AsiaGameHub) -   Kalshi, a provider of prediction market services, has had its ban upheld by a state judge in Nevada. The State of Nevada asserts that the services offered by Kalshi are gaming-adjacent and fall under the scope of gambling regulatory rules. Judge Jason Woodbury of the First Judicial District Court based in Carson City has ruled to issue a preliminary injunction that prevents Kalshi from selling contracts tied to sporting events, all types of entertainment events, and elections unless it holds a valid gaming license issued by the State of Nevada. Judge Woodbury issued the temporary restraining order (TRO) on the grounds that the court determined purchasing contracts linked to a specific sporting event is nearly identical to placing wagers through a licensed casino or bookmaker. The court's ruling also challenges Kalshi's claim that its products qualify as federally regulated "swaps" under the oversight of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Speaking on this latest development, U.S. Gaming Law and Sports Betting Attorney Daniel Wallach called the ruling a key milestone for state regulators, writing on LinkedIn: Major win for Nevada, which now joins Massachusetts as the first two states to obtain a preliminary injunction against Kalshi. The legal landscape across the country remains highly fragmented www.bcljs.com, with Nevada being one of just a small number of states with an active court-ordered ban on offering Kalshi services. The regulatory environment for this space still remains fragmented in nature. The Nevada Council on Problem Gambling and the Dr. Robert Hunter International Problem Gambling Centre submitted amicus briefs to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals regarding the risks connected to the accessibility, transaction speed, and product design of the products and services available via Kalshi. Paradise Co.’s revenues dropped nearly 40% in March to $33 million

(AsiaGameHub) -   Paradise Co. reported that its casino revenue for March dropped by 39.6 percent year-on-year and 44.0 percent compared to February, totaling US$32.8 million (KRW49.5 billion), though the operator provided no specific reasons for the decline. Although the total drop rose by 9.7 percent sequentially to US$389 million (KRW587.7 billion), overall casino revenue fell during the month, driven by a 43.4 percent year-over-year decrease in table revenue to US$29.1 million (KRW44.0 billion). For the first quarter of 2026, total revenue reached US$152 million (KRW229.7 billion), representing a 1.8 percent increase over the same period last year. During this quarter, table games revenue grew by 1.0 percent, machine revenue rose by 23.6 percent, and the total table drop climbed 3.6 percent to US$1.17 billion (KRW1.76 trillion). Grand Korea Leisure’s casino revenue falls to $21 million

(AsiaGameHub) -   Grand Korea Leisure (GKL), a casino operator exclusively for foreign patrons, recorded casino revenue of KRW32.0 billion (approximately US$21.2 million) in March. This figure represents a 22.8% decrease compared to the previous year, yet an increase of 16.0% from February. This decline in revenue is somewhat unexpected, considering that the total drop amount—the sum of money wagered by customers—actually grew by 13.5% year-over-year and 18.8% month-over-month, reaching KRW339.3 billion ($225 million). Revenue from table games saw a 26.0% year-over-year reduction, totaling KRW28.4 billion ($18.8 million). Conversely, electronic (machine) revenue rose by 17.8% to KRW3.54 billion ($2.3 million), when compared to March of the previous year and February of the current year, respectively. GKL has announced casino revenue of KRW425.3 billion (US$294 million) for the fiscal year ending 2025. This report comes after the company decided to discontinue its plans to purchase the land housing the Seven Luck Casino in Seoul’s Dragon City development. Philippines Declares POGO-Free Status Following Crackdown on Violence

(AsiaGameHub) -   The Department of Justice has confirmed that all Philippine offshore gaming operator hubs have ceased operations in the Philippines, following a government crackdown that effectively dismantled the sector. Justice Secretary Fredderick Vida informed reporters that the extensive enforcement campaign resulted in the closure of 80% of previously active hubs within one month of their expiration date. He stated unequivocally that there are no legally sanctioned POGOs currently operating within the country, nor are there any operating illegally. He further reiterated the government's official position that no POGO operations will be permitted in the Philippines. Despite the official shutdown of the sector, the Department of Justice has indicated that monitoring of these operations will continue. The DOJ will maintain close surveillance and will intervene if any illegal activity is discovered or reported, as anticipated. The Department of Justice will persist in its active efforts to ensure that any group choosing to operate outside the law will be reported, and appropriate measures will be taken against them. While the DOJ has declared the country a POGO-free zone, it seeks to alleviate any doubts about its commitment to addressing the issue. The continuation of monitoring activities signals that the government will not tolerate a return to unauthorized POGO-related activities in the wake of this closure. India blocks 8,376 websites associated with online betting and gambling

(AsiaGameHub) -   India has announced the blocking of a further 8,376 gambling and gaming websites, as offshore platforms remain a persistent issue for the nation. Following the implementation of the 2025 Online Gaming Act, over 4,800 of these targeted URLs have been taken down. This legislation prohibits online gambling for money and is now a central component of the government's strategy to fight online betting and gambling. A survey by CUTS International in the Delhi NCR region last December revealed that the proportion of users on offshore sites rose from 68.3% before the ban to 82% after it, marking a 20.1% overall increase. The data further showed daily users of these platforms jumped from 3.4% of users pre-ban to 42.3% post-ban. Beyond more frequent access, users are also spending more time on these sites and increasing their monthly expenditures. Individuals have circumvented Indian legal restrictions using mirror domains and local payment methods such as UPI. Another CUTS International survey in Tamil Nadu in early January found that engagement with offshore gambling sites there has grown by 15.2% since the ban, indicating their continued prevalence across many states despite a stricter legal framework. The scale of the offshore gambling industry was highlighted during a MediaNama panel on the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act (2025) in September 2025. Dhruv Garg, a Partner at IGAP, noted the industry's total value is approximately $20 billion, stressing that this capital is leaving the country untaxed. He estimated the resulting government tax loss at over $4 billion, which exceeds the revenue generated by India's legal gambling sector. This article is provided by a third-party. Romanian court confirms ONJN’s decision to blacklist Polymarket

(AsiaGameHub) -   A Romanian court has issued a ruling upholding the Romanian Gambling Office’s decision to keep Polymarket on its national blacklist. The court rejected Polymarket’s request to suspend an earlier ONJN ruling, which found the platform was operating without a valid license. ONJN President Vlad Cristian Soare celebrated the result in a LinkedIn post, stating: Today we secured our first major win in the Polymarket case. There’s been a lot of speculation around this decision. In truth, the issue was never just about Polymarket—and still isn’t. The real goal is to protect the legal framework governing gambling and close a dangerous loophole: rebranding betting under the seemingly innocent label of ‘prediction platform’. According to the ONJN, the court’s ruling reinforces the Gambling Office’s authority and strengthens its legitimacy to take action against Polymarket. Romania was one of the first jurisdictions to blacklist the platform in October 2025. Since Romania blacklisted Polymarket, the platform has also been banned by several other European jurisdictions, including Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland, Hungary, Ukraine, Switzerland, France, Portugal, Germany, and Italy. Polymarket first faced issues with the ONJN after the office cited an “exploited surge” in activity during Romania’s 2025 election period. Total trading on Pepsin exceeded $600 million during the presidential election and $15 million from Bucharest’s local elections. The Office stated at the time: Allowing counterparty betting to be reclassified as trading would set a reckless precedent. The ONJN determined that Polymarket acts as a counterparty betting provider—even though it presents itself as a prediction market—because it lets customers wager on event outcomes and charges them a commission for doing so. Based on this finding, the ONJN concluded Polymarket is subject to existing gambling laws. Soare emphasized this stance, adding: Whether you bet in lei or crypto, if you’re putting money on a future outcome in a counterparty bet scenario, it’s gambling that requires a license. The ONJN will not allow blockchain to become a shield for illegal gambling. This article is provided by a third-party. Cambodia’s dozen casinos tied to online scams and human rights abuses

(AsiaGameHub) -   Amnesty International has reported that a dozen casinos in Cambodia are currently licensed to run online scam operations, with serious ongoing human rights implications. Despite the Cambodian government's claims of a cybercrime crackdown, the report states that "at least a dozen casinos" have been "directly linked to scamming and abuse" involving individuals who are "tortured, forced into labour, used for child labour, or trafficked for sex." The report specifically names three casinos allegedly operated by Kok An, who is reported to have strong ties to former government officials. In business records, he is listed as having worked for the Anco Group, an umbrella corporation for many Cambodian businesses. Using data from the commercial gambling regulator, the Commercial Gambling Management Commission, the report shows that all casino operators run their facilities through on-site offices and that twelve casinos have supplied evidence of documented abuse. Authorities in Cambodia have reported arresting nearly a thousand people as part of an anti-cyber-crime initiative initially focused on "pig-butchering" scams. Additionally, close to 190 casino-linked scam operations have been closed, and gaming licenses have been revoked from some major firms, including Prince Group Holdings. Cambodian regulators state these measures demonstrate the government's commitment to "enforce stronger regulation of commercial gaming and to guarantee legal operations." Montse Ferrer, Co-Regional Director at Amnesty International, stated the research "clearly links Cambodia's licensed casinos to its scamming compounds." Ferrer added that while officials claim to be dismantling the industry, "the evidence indicates it is concurrently approving plans for casino properties where abusive scam compounds operate." Casino Visitation reached 53,587 in March, marking its highest level since October, and Table Drop grew by 19.6% to KRW188.9 billion. These increases in visitation and gaming activity indicate a positive outlook for Jeju Dream Tower, anticipating continued growth into the second quarter of 2023. For the first quarter of 2026, Casino Revenue saw a 40.3% year-over-year increase, accumulating KRW118.6 billion (US$78.4 million). Table Games revenues were the primary driver of this surge, increasing by 41.5% to KRW112.9 billion (US$74.6 million), while Machine Sales rose by 19.6% to KRW5.67 billion (US$3.75 million). Hotel Revenue also improved by 27.9% compared to 2022 figures, reaching KRW18.0 billion (US$11.9 million).
