Rizal police arrest 8 in crackdown on illegal gambling

(AsiaGameHub) –   Eight individuals were taken into custody during two separate police raids, highlighting the recent drive by local law enforcement to suppress illegal gambling activities.

In Morong, the Rizal Police Provincial Office (RPPO) detained seven suspects along T. Claudio Street in Barangay Maybancal. The operation, carried out at roughly 7:40 p.m., focused on persons allegedly operating an illegal numbers game known as “bookies.”

Authorities confiscated ₱3,415.00 in cash, as well as various gambling implements such as calculators, notebooks, and betting slips.

In Teresa, officers acted on a report concerning suspected illegal gambling occurring under a home in Dulumbayan. Arriving shortly after 6:00 p.m., police apprehended one suspect, identified solely as Jose, who was allegedly engaged in illegal numbers betting.

Items seized during this raid included betting stubs, receipts, and a small quantity of cash.

All eight suspects from the two operations are currently in custody, awaiting the filing of charges under Presidential Decree No. 1602, as modified by Republic Act No. 9287.

Rizal police leadership lauded the agencies involved in the two joint operations and restated their dedication to working together to identify and stop illegal gambling through enforcement efforts and public assistance.
